Resolution Trail Run @ Muratie

TIMING: You can purchase a permanent Trail Tag at R100 which you will use at all Dirtopia Trail Run events. If you have a Trail Tag from previous events, please bring it along and wear on right wrist. Runners also have the option of renting a temporary Amarider Trail tag at R25 and will be given to you at registration with your race number. The temporary tag will be taken off at the finish line. TRAIL TAG:
1. Only run with your own TrailTag
2. Please return your rental tags at the finish line.
3. The reader is powerful enough to read through arm warmers etc.
Runners must stay on the marked trail. Listen to the MC at the start and follow yellow boards. Do not turn unless there is an arrow. Follow signs in front of you! Race numbers must be visible at all times, especially at the finish line.
Please do not litter! We also urge you to not leave valuables in your vehicle. We can keep car keys/valuables at registration for you.
For our 2025 Sportsman’s Warehouse Trail Runs we are introducing brand new points logs, combining events together in Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring batches with 3-4 events in each batch.
Also, all our runs combined will feature an overall points log for end-of-year bragging rights and of course we’ll add some fun prizes to make things interesting throughout the season.
These points are only for runners who make use of the Trailtags so make sure to either buy or rent one when you enter.
We adapted the categories on our system and each category will have its own unique log all the way from sub juniors to great grand masters.
To keep the points fair, we’ll apply a weighting to each distance, so that longer distances earn more points.
Our first 3 events are around the corner and to kick things off we are batching these events together with a nice pre-entry discount of 20%. This offer is available up until 16 January 2025 and on dirtpass.co.za ONLY.
Resolutions for 2025 is under way and what better way than running through beautiful singletrack on Dirtopia’s trail network with spectacular views of the Winelands and Table Mountain in the distance!
There are three distances to choose from starting at Dirtopia Trail Centre on the historic Muratie wine farm; so whether you a beginner or more experienced/fitter, there is something for all abilities.
It is the 12th year the Resolution Trail Run takes place at Muratie – also the base of Dirtopia, where new trails are added every year…
EVENT DATE: Sunday, 19 January 2025
VENUE: Dirtopia Trail Centre, Muratie Wine Farm, on Knorhoek Road, R44 Stellenbosch
REGISTRATION: From 06h15 at Dirtopia Trail Centre
DISTANCES & ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS:
6km loop – This green route wide singletrack on the ABC trail and return via Exit trail. Beautiful views of Simonsberg and the Winelands below.
11.5km route – This route will give you more of a work-out with more singletrack and extra loops than the short route winding in the forest sections to Clapham Junction. Refreshment station at the look-out point Gillooly’s and back to the finish via Ho Chi Mihn trail.
17.5km route – A work-out for the fit trail runners only. No walkers allowed on this one, as there will be a cut-off. Various singletrack trails that head up towards Jakhalskloof that are normally closed to the public…hello 2025!

LATE entries will be accepted at registration at an extra fee (from R50 per entry, depending on distance)
All PRE-ENTRANTS who are under 18 years of age will pay only R65 entry fee for 6km only! Note that late entries under 18 will pay the normal late entry fee.
Timing by Amarider Trail Tag is optional. Rent a blue tag (R25) for the event OR buy a permanent one for R100 to be used at all Dirtopia events. Live results for pre-entries. Late entries & changes will be done by the Monday.
GENERAL INFO: The refreshment station will serve Powerade, cold water and fruit plus Coke at the finish for all.
Stay for the lucky draw and stand a chance to win great products to use in your sport. Coffee will be available from early morning and Farm Kitchen will be open for meals. Grab'n go meals will be available and don’t forget the wines!

- Prizes on the 6km for kids Under 18 ONLY.
- No adult prizes here, as it is a FUN run/walk.
- Prizes for the 11.5km for top three Male and Female
- 17.5km Prizes for TOP three male and Female runners.
- First over the line wins.
- Runners can CHOOSE if they want Trail Tag timing to be on the results.
- All participants can be part of the lucky draw – tickets just before prizegiving.
- First 250 pre-entrants will receive a special event medal.
